Emerge For Africa Ltd
Working Towards a Brighter Future For Girls
No child’s gender should stand in her way to increased freedoms. No child’s life circumstances should halt her steps forward to her education and a better future.
Emerge For Africa at a Glance
A Bit of Background
Emerge for Africa is dedicated to ensuring that girls, particularly those whose circumstances have marginalised or silenced them, can lift their voice in their own lives and have a reason to smile.
With this mission in mind, Emerge For Africa designs innovative, sustainable and context-based project models to advance girls' education in Sub-Saharan Africa, and provides technical assistance to local partners wishing to implement these models.
One Step at a Time
Mentor A Mum
With our organisation's mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenge of Teenage Pregnancy in Uganda. Our team is working each and every day to address the situation of hundreds of young mothers aged 12 to 17, by developing and leveraging the strength of these young mothers and the very social support and training they are currently denied by their situation.
Helping The Community
Household Poverty Reduction
At Emerge For Africa Ltd, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the issue of poverty in rural and remote areas of Uganda. Poverty has been cited as a major cause for child labour, child marriage, early pregnancy, domestic violence, parental and community lack of interest in children's education, poor health, malnutrition and poor sanitation, among others.
Reinforcing our Commitment
Menstrual Hygiene Management
With this programme, our goal is to promote greater opportunities for girls in Sub-Saharan Africa. With access to the right resources, girls can become empowered and gain the confidence to fulfil their potential.
Advancing Girls' and Women's Rights
With Gender Equality in mind, our team develops and disseminates awareness programmes to promote healthy relationships and fairer choices for girls and women, by engaging men and boys in the process.
Early Pregnancy Prevention
Our Early Pregnancy Prevention (EPP) programme offers a critical space for action research with the aim to develop action plans at a national level to prevent early pregnancy in a coordinated manner, via engaging Ministries of Education and governments on the formulation of clearer policies for teenage mothers.
